Your birth doula package includes all of the following services:
Free Consultation
This meeting gives you an opportunity to ask questions about my services, for us to get to know each other and for you to determine if you'd like to hire me to work with you. There is never any obligation to hire me on the spot. I think it's crucial to your experience that you select a doula that you feel comfortable with.
Once you've decided to hire me, a $300 deposit will reserve your due date on my calendar and we will schedule our first prenatal visit together.
Two Prenatal Visits
During a prenatal visit, we will spend time together exploring birth options and comfort measures. We will review or create your birth plan, discuss previous birth experiences (if applicable) and spend time building a trusting relationship. I typically meet clients in their home, but these meetings can take any place that you feel comfortable discussing intimate details.
Unlimited Phone, Text & Email Support
Upon hiring me, I will be available to answer your questions and discuss any concerns that arise via text, email or phone calls. From 38 weeks on (35 weeks for multiples), my phone will be on 24 hours a day, ready for your call and my backup doula will be notified to be available at a moment's notice as well.
Continuous Labor & Birth Support
When labor begins, I will meet you at home or at your birth place as soon as my presence is requested and will remain with you for the duration of your labor until several hours after the birth. I offer physical and emotional support for you and your partner throughout labor and delivery, including ideas for maximizing your comfort during labor. I can take photos or video for you (using your camera or mine - I'm not a photographer, but know how to take a decent shot. Several of the photos on my website were taken by me.) I can help communicate with waiting family members if you so desire and remind hospital staff of your birth preferences. I also take notes during your birth (as time allows) to document as many details as possible.
Immediate Postpartum Support
I will stay at the hospital for a couple of hours after your delivery to ensure breastfeeding has started well and to remind hospital staff of your newborn preferences. I work to protect early family bonding time and help with placenta arrangements if you're planning on taking it home with you or having it encapsulated.
Backup Doula Services
In the rare event that I cannot attend your birth, my backup doula will take my place. My highly qualified backup doula has been hired specifically for your birth. She has reviewed your birth plan and has been kept up to date on the general progress of your pregnancy. You have the option to meet this doula during one of our prenatal visits if you choose.
Postpartum Home Visit
Sometime in the first two weeks after your birth, I will come visit you at home. During this visit, we can discuss details of your birth, check in on how breastfeeding is going and I can help you with tips and tricks to adjust to having a newborn at home. I can share plenty of resources for you to ensure you have what you need to continue a smooth transition into your life with this new child. If you've had a cesarean birth, I often make an extra visit to you while you're still in the hospital to check in on how things are going.

• Fee Schedule •

Once you've decided to hire me, we will review the contract and your first payment will ensure that my time is blocked out to be on call for your estimated due date. $ - due at last prenatal visit Your second payment, paid at our last prenatal visit (sometime around 38 weeks), ensures that both my backup doula and I are on call and ready to attend your birth. $ - due at postpartum home visit I offer a built in sliding fee scale. This means that you are able to choose the amount of your final payment, based on what you can afford. I will email you a final payment reminder prior to our last prenatal visit, since I know that those early postpartum days can be a whirlwind of sleepless nights and basking in the glow of snuggling your tiny, new bundles.
