My Philosophy

I believe in supporting parents from all walks of life during their journey through pregnancy, labor and birth, regardless of their choices surrounding the event.  I work with families who have epidurals and scheduled cesareans or home births and water births - and everything in between. Regardless of your choices, I am confident in my ability to bring substantial support to your individual experience. Birth is truly extraordinary and I feel absolutely honored to be a part of each and every client's story.

Experience

I completed my DONA doula training in 2011. From there, I went on to volunteer for Clackamas County's Healthy Start/Healthy Families program at Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City. Since 2012, I've been a Moms Helping Moms mentor for the Catholic Charities adoption and pregnancy support program, working as a mentor and doula for single moms and teen moms. I'm currently working on my SBD certification to be a birth & bereavement doula.

I have experience supporting the following:
  • Twin births
  • Cesarean births and vaginal deliveries
  • Inductions
  • VBAC's (vaginal birth after cesarean)
  • Epidural and non-medicated births
  • Water births
  • Home births and hospital births
  • Teen moms
  • First time and experienced parents
  • Single moms
  • Parents working with both doctors and midwives
  • Attending births occurring in an operating room
